VersionDB vs Hunter
Hunter is best known for finding emails on a domain, and its TechLookup also lists websites by technology. The list sits inside a subscription, with paid plans from $49 a month and usage paid for in credits.
Hunter pricing checked 22 September 2026 against their pricing page. Prices change, so check before you compare.
$49 buys one month of Hunter Starter, or 3,100 complete rows from VersionDB.
Hunter Starter includes 2,000 credits a month. Domain Search spends one credit per email found, or one per ten in Bulk Domain Search.
At VersionDB the same $49 is a one-off export of up to 3,100 sites. Each row carries everything we have on that site: its full tech stack with versions, and the emails, phone numbers and social profiles the company publishes on its own website. You keep the file and nothing renews.
50 credits a month, basic Discover filters (no technology filter)
2,000 credits a month, advanced Discover filters including technologies. $34 a month billed yearly
10,000 credits a month. $104 a month billed yearly
25,000 credits a month, account manager. $209 a month billed yearly
One payment per export. $10 covers the first 500 rows, and the per-row price falls as the list grows.

What VersionDB does differently
Pay for the list, not the outreach tool
Hunter's plans bundle email sequences, connected mailboxes, verification and an AI writing assistant. If all you need is the list of sites, VersionDB sells only that.
More technologies to choose from
TechLookup lists 1,617 technologies. VersionDB detects 4,522, and one export can filter on up to 10 of them.
See the list before you sign up
TechLookup shows how many sites run a technology, then asks you to sign up to see them. VersionDB shows the exact row count and price for your whole filter set before you enter an email.
Versions on the row
Target WooCommerce 10.4.3 specifically instead of every store running WooCommerce.
Rows, not credits
Hunter charges 1 credit per email found and 0.5 more to verify it. A VersionDB row costs the same whatever it holds, and it holds everything we have on that site, including emails, phones and social profiles classified business or personnel. You can filter on them too, for example only companies with a personnel email, a free address like Gmail, a mobile number or a personnel LinkedIn profile.
Nothing to cancel
Hunter says you can subscribe for one month and cancel. VersionDB skips the subscription altogether. One Stripe payment, no plan to remember to cancel.

- You need version-level targeting.
- You want to filter on several technologies at once, chosen from 4,522.
- You want the row count and exact price before signing up.
