Terms of Service

Last updated: July 15, 2026 (AEST)

1. Description of Service

VersionDB is operated by Jesse Lye (ABN 20 285 349 280) of 2/290 Boundary Street, Spring Hill, QLD 4000, Australia.

VersionDB provides custom lead list exports through the Lead List Exporter. You build a query against our database of crawled websites, see how many rows match, choose how many rows to purchase, and receive the result as a CSV file. VersionDB acts as the provider of this data; we do not provide consulting, analysis, or additional services beyond delivering your export.

2. Purchases and Access

Searching the database and viewing row counts is free and does not require an account. Each export requires a one-time payment via Stripe, with the price shown before you pay. Payment confirms your right to receive the export. There are no accounts, subscriptions, or recurring payments.

3. Intellectual Property

All exports and content provided by VersionDB are the intellectual property of VersionDB. You may use your export for personal, commercial, or research purposes, but you may not redistribute, resell, or share it outside your organisation without explicit permission from VersionDB. Redistribution rights, including embedding the data in your own product or in client deliverables, are granted under a separate agreement: see Data Licensing.

You may not use exports, individually or in combination, to build or seed a product or dataset that competes with VersionDB, or to systematically reconstruct any substantial part of the VersionDB database.

You may use exports with AI and machine learning tools for your own internal purposes, such as scoring, enriching, or prioritising your own leads. You may not use exports to train models or assemble datasets that replicate the data VersionDB sells.

4. Refunds

Exports are generated and delivered automatically, so we do not offer refunds for dissatisfaction or change of mind. Refunds may be granted in two situations:

  • Non-delivery: the export was not delivered within 24 hours following a valid payment.
  • Query mismatch: the majority of rows in your export do not satisfy the filters you selected when purchasing it. This applies to the match between your query and the rows delivered, not to the accuracy of the underlying crawled data, such as whether an email address is still active or a detected technology is still in use.

In either case, contact us at [email protected] to request a resolution. Nothing in these Terms excludes any consumer guarantees or other rights you may have under applicable law that cannot be excluded.

5. Delivery

“Delivery” of an export occurs when VersionDB sends your CSV file, or a URL granting access to download it, to the email address you provided at checkout. Once this has been sent, the export is considered delivered, and VersionDB’s responsibility for storage, access, or preservation of the export ends.

You are responsible for providing a valid email address at checkout. VersionDB cannot be held liable if an incorrect or inactive email address prevents delivery.

If you have paid but your export has not arrived (check your spam folder first), contact us at [email protected] and we will investigate and redeliver it.

6. Warranties and Limitation of Liability

VersionDB provides exports “as-is”. The data is collected by automated crawling of publicly accessible websites, and we do not warrant its accuracy, completeness, or currency, including whether an email address is deliverable, a phone number is current, or a detected technology is still in use. VersionDB shall not be liable for any loss, damage, costs, or expenses, whether direct, indirect, special, or consequential, arising out of or in connection with your use of the exports.

7. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use

You are responsible for how you use exported data, including compliance with any laws that apply to your outreach, such as anti-spam, telemarketing, and data protection legislation in your jurisdiction and in the jurisdictions of the people you contact.

You must not use exported data to:

  • send spam or any communications that breach applicable anti-spam or telemarketing laws;
  • contact people who have opted out of, or not consented to where consent is required, receiving communications from you;
  • harass, defraud, threaten, or otherwise harm any person or organisation; or
  • carry out any activity that is unlawful in your jurisdiction or in the jurisdiction of the people you contact.

These Terms also cover your use of the VersionDB website. Searching is free, but you must not scrape the website, harvest row counts or the technology index by automated bulk querying, or circumvent any technical limits we put in place. If you want data at that scale, that is what exports and data licensing are for.

VersionDB may refuse to sell exports to anyone it reasonably suspects of misusing the data. VersionDB is not responsible for any consequences arising from your use of the exports.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify VersionDB, its operator, and its personnel against any claims, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of exported data in breach of these Terms or of applicable law. If your use of the data breaks the law, the legal cost is yours, not ours.

9. Export Storage and Responsibility

Once an export has been delivered to you, you are solely responsible for storing and backing it up. VersionDB does not guarantee the storage of delivered exports. While it may retain copies, it cannot ensure they will remain available. You are responsible for preserving your copy for future use.

10. Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms will be governed by and construed in accordance with Australian law, and any disputes relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland, Australia.

To comply with the Spam Act 2003, we do not supply email addresses and phone numbers if you are in Australia or carry on business or activities in Australia.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining Terms will continue in full force and effect.

12. Changes to Terms

VersionDB may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the website or purchase of an export constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Privacy Protection

Our Privacy Policy explains how we treat your personal data and protect your privacy when you use our Service. By using our Service, you agree that VersionDB can use such data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
